Also to get the new genoa from North Sails in Turku .
And then the tricky bit of exporting it as part of my baggage back to the Canaries as "Goods in Transit"
North Sails delivered the sail to Customs at Turku airport as instructed by Customs .
22 November....... I checked in and went to pick up the sail. No-one in Customs.....Had to board without it.
Christel did a lot of phoning.
As I landed in Helsinki a phone message arrived with apologies from Customs.
It seemed as if all staff in Arrivals, Departure, Customs and Immigration were really embarassed!
Somehow the sail was on my flight to Teneriffe!!!!
Meanwhile back in the Canaries...... Göran and Pia had cruised down to Santa Cruz and thence to the island's southern tip and the port of Los Cristianos. Where I joined them.
Los Cristianos had no marina as such in 2003 and very limited anchoring and mooring space, but there was a new lift.

Göran and Pia nearly ready for the short trip across to La Gomera. Most of our stores were on board and we had found a splendid shop which had exactly the storage boxes we needed for food stowage below the starboard saloon berth.

Christel arrived on the ferry from Tenerife and we stayed in a small but comfortable little hotel and did some sightseeing in a hired car. The views were spectacular - when we could see them.....
